MANITOWOC, Wis. — A Manitowoc man is found guilty of crimes related to the death of his grandnephew more than eight years ago.
Jurors return the verdict against Timothy Hauschultz on charges of neglecting a child with a consequence of death, physical abuse of a child causing great bodily harm and intentionally contributing to the delinquency of a child resulting in death. He was acquitted on two other charges.
Hauschultz ordered his son, Damian, to force 7-year-old Ethan Hauschultz to carry a log around the yard for failing to remember Bible verses. The boy collapsed into a snowbank and died of hypothermia.
Hauschultz faces up to 43 years in prison when sentenced on Jan. 15.
