Five-time Paralympian and six-time Paralympic medalist Alana Nichols will bring her remarkable story of perseverance and athletic excellence to Green Bay this fall as the featured keynote speaker for the 21st Annual Powerful Luncheon, hosted by the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay.
The signature fundraising event will take place Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Resch Expo, bringing together community members, business leaders, and sports fans to hear from one of America’s most accomplished adaptive athletes.
Who Is Alana Nichols?
Alana Nichols is one of the most decorated athletes in Paralympic history. After suffering a spinal cord injury at age 17 during a snowboarding accident, she refused to let adversity define her future.
Instead, Nichols became a dominant force in adaptive sports, competing in three different Paralympic sports from 2008 through 2016. She is a five-time Paralympian, a six-time Paralympic medalist, and made history as the first American woman to win gold medals in both the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games.
Her accomplishments include:
- Gold medal in Wheelchair Basketball at the Summer Paralympics
- Gold medal in Alpine Ski Racing at the Winter Paralympics
- Competitor in Paracanoe at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games
- Board member for ESPN and the Women’s Sports Foundation
- National advocate for expanding sports opportunities for girls, women, and people with disabilities
Nichols’ journey has made her one of the most respected voices in sports, leadership, and resilience.
