HORTONVILLE, Wis–A coin flip decides an election in Hortonville. Shauna Keel and Dalton Davis tied at 356-votes each for the third open seat on the Village Board in Tuesday night’s race.
State statute holds that tied elections can be decided by a game of chance, so the Board of Canvassers choose to flip a coin. Keel was designated as “heads”, Davis was assigned “tails”.
The flip came up “tails”–giving Davis the win.
