Neenah is jumping on board a federal lawsuit, in hopes of delaying the April 7th election.
Mayor Dean Kaufert says they support the push by the City of Green Bay to force the state to hold off. A federal judge is giving both sides until this afternoon to file their arguments.
Kaufert says 21 of the city’s 52 scheduled poll workers don’t want to come in. He says they’re either seniors, or they take care of one, and they’re concerned about getting coronavirus.
Kaufert says they’re also in danger of losing one of their polling places. He says a church is concerned about having people come into the building.
He thinks the state should push back the election, and send a ballot in the mail to every registered voter. Kaufert believes they could complete the results by May 7th.
