Some businesses where workers have to come in close contact with customers are choosing to close their doors.
Greg Smith owns Avalon Healing Center in De Pere, and he’s not offering theraputic massages for the next two weeks. He says it was a difficult decision, but once the recommendation came down to not have prolonged contact with people, that made it easier.
Smith’s massage therapists will do limited in-home sessions, but only if they’re a medical necessity, and the customer doesn’t have coronavirus symptoms.
Daniel Pagel of the Parlour salon in De Pere also closed. He says it’s heartbreaking not being able to serve their customers, but they have to protect their customers.
The Professional Beauty Association put out guidelines for stylists. They match the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing.
