The Olympics are such a fascinating study in human consciousness. The athletes dedicate their entire existence to performing for us on this world’s stage – every moment of every day, every day of every week, every week of every year, training day after training day, competition after competition. And then there’s us. For most of us in spectator land, their entire existence only enters our cognizance for a single night every 4 years. And for that single night, we turn into super fans of a sport we didn’t even know had a pulse.
