TOWN OF FRIENDSHIP, Wis. — Fire crews battling a house fire Wednesday morning found an 81-year-old woman dead inside a bedroom.
Fond du Lac County sheriff’s officials say the cause of the fire and the woman’s death are still under investigation.
Crews were called to a home in the 7800 block of Lakeshore Drive in the town of Friendship around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday and found smoke coming from the attic of the one-story home.
Officials believe the fire started in the basement.
Seven fire departments responded to the scene along with several law enforcement agencies.
