OSHKOSH, WI — When the Goodyear Blimps leave Oshkosh after this week’s AirVenture, they will be leaving behind a piece of history. The company is donating a gondola that was used on one of the longest-serving blimps to the EAA Aviation Museum for a permanent display. Captain Michael Doughtery says Oshkosh is a fitting location for that relic.
EAA Museum Manager Chris Henry says the blimp gondola will be turned into a multi-media exhibit.
Henry also says the blimp is a great ambassador for aviation
The new blimp exhibit at the EAA museum will open later this year. Two airships will be on display at AirVenture all week.
