GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers appear to be cutting ties with a veteran player.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team will be releasing cornerback Jaire Alexander on Monday.
The Packers had been trying to negotiate a trade for Alexander. The team offered a restructured contract last month, but he rejected it.
Injuries have impacted Alexander’s playing time in recent years. He missed time last season because of a knee issue.
The Packers selected Alexander in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was named to the Pro Bowl twice.
