Rewind to 2010 – NBA superstar, LeBron James, is a free agent. The list of suitors vieing for the hand of King James is long; among them: the Cavaliers, Clippers, Bulls, Nets, Heat, and the NY Knicks. It was reported in 2010 that the pitch made by the Knicks included a 10-minute, star-studded video appeal to James, selling not only the Big Apple’s many attributes, but it’s winning reputation. The Knicks didn’t land James, and the footage never surfaced. Until now.
Former ESPN host Pablo Torre unearthed and aired the video Tuesday on his podcast “Pablo Torre Finds Out.” Donald Trump, Chris Rock, Spike Lee and Robert De Niro all make appearances, but it’s the video’s open that is capturing all the buzz, as we fade in to find ourselves in the Manhattan apartment of Tony and Carmela Soprano.
