¡Vamos a Brasil! The NFL announced its intentions in December to play its first-ever regular season game in South America. Today, the league filled in the details on the who and the when. Fire up for a clash of pre-season NFC contenders in week 1, as the Philadelphia Eagles will play host to the Green Bay Packers! The game will take place on Friday, Sept. 6.
“We’re looking forward to being a part of this historic matchup against the Eagles in São Paulo,” remarked Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy.
This will be the second international appearance for the Packers who first took their game overseas in 2022, playing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
“We’re excited to play in front of our devoted fans in Brazil and help build upon the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers,” said Murphy. “We had a great experience playing internationally for the first time a couple of years ago and we’re proud to be part of the league’s continued global growth.”
The game will be streamed exclusively on Peacock (NBCUniversal), but will be available over-the-air via broadcast television in the local markets of both teams. The game will also be available via mobile devices with NFL+.
As far as details on the remaining 16 regular-season contests, Packers will have to wait a bit longer. The full 2024 slate will not be announced until later this spring.
