Neenah’s leader thinks it’s going to be a challenge to deal with the city’s finances after the pandemic.
Mayor Dean Kaufert tells Fresh Take they’re already working to control costs and trying to find creative ways to save money. He says he doesn’t want to furlough workers.
Kaufert says the city paid $2 a gallon to fill its own large gas tank, so workers are going to local gas stations to pay less to fill up city vehicles.
Governor Evers yesterday called for a five percent cut in state government spending. Kaufert is concerned about whether communities will get all of their funding that was included in the state budget.
