More grants are going to nonprofit groups to deal with the impact of coronavirus.
The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities are giving another $130,000, through a special Community Response Fund.
The foundation’s Tammy Geenan says the Menasha-based LEAVEN is getting $50,000 to provide basic needs to prevent poverty, homelessness and health issues.
Seven programs in the region that provide food are receiving some funding. Geenan says the demand for help is growing, and it’s one of the top priorities for the fund.
Friendship Place in Neenah is receiving $10,000 to adapt its mental health services for people needing support.
So far, the fund has provided about $450,000 in grants.
