A Fox Cities company is building portable medical units to help health care workers deal with coronavirus.
Excellerate hopes to make hundreds of them over the next eight to 10 weeks.
President John Gunderson tells Focus Fox Valley their staff came up with a flexible design that starts with what’s basically a shipping container.
There would be enough room for up to 48 patients in each unit. The space could also be used for triage rooms, exam rooms, and mobile labs.
It takes about two weeks to build and fabricate each unit.
Excellerate has two locations along I-41. They’re in Little Chute and Neenah.
